How to Solve Frequent Freezing of Liquid Nitrogen Tank
2025-01-21 10:36

Liquid nitrogen tanks frequently freeze during use, which brings a lot of trouble to laboratory work. Freezing not only affects the normal operation of liquid nitrogen tanks, but also may cause deviation of experimental results.

Taking the following measures can effectively solve the problem of frequent freezing of liquid nitrogen container, and ensure the normal operation of the laboratory and the accuracy of experimental results.

1. Optimize sealing performance

Check the sealing of the liquid nitrogen tank to ensure good sealing performance. Poor sealing causes outside air to enter the liquid nitrogen tank, causing the loss of liquid nitrogen gas and temperature drop, which promotes the occurrence of freezing. Check the seals regularly and replace the parts with severe wear in time to ensure the sealing effect.

2. Control humidity

Reduce the humidity around the liquid nitrogen tank to reduce the possibility of freezing. An environment with high humidity can easily cause condensation on the surface of the tank, and then form an ice layer. The humidity can be reduced by using a dehumidifier in the laboratory or increasing ventilation to effectively reduce the probability of freezing.

3. Optimize the usage method

Reasonably control the amount and frequency of liquid nitrogen use, and avoid opening the cryogenic liquid nitrogen tank frequently. Frequent opening will cause the temperature inside the tank to drop rapidly, exacerbating the occurrence of icing. It is recommended to minimize the temperature difference between the inside of the tank and the outside environment.

4. Strengthen maintenance

Regularly clean the ice layer and condensation on the surface of the liquid nitrogen tank to keep the tank dry and clean. Regularly clean and inspect the inside of the tank, remove the ice layer and impurities accumulated in the tank in time, to ensure that the inside of the tank is dry and tidy, and reduce the possibility of icing.
